Job summary

Trinity House Care Home in Edinburgh is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the delivery of high quality meals in a clean, safe kitchen. This hands-on role helps ensure meals are prepared to a high standard and that the kitchen runs smoothly.

You will assist with food preparation, keep areas clean, and help with deliveries, storage and stock organisation while working closely with the Chef and team in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• A positive and reliable approach.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Job description

Trinity House Care Home is a purpose built 55 bed care home located in Edinburgh, providing Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care. The home offers a high quality, boutique style environment where team members deliver person centred care in a comfortable and well supported setting.

Kitchen Assistant

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.
