Job summary

Cherrybrook Care Home in Bradford is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join the in-house kitchen team in a specialist care setting, supporting residents with complex health needs. You will help with food preparation, maintain high standards of hygiene, follow food safety procedures and assist with deliveries, storage and daily kitchen organisation to ensure a smooth dining experience.

Full-time, days shifts, 31.5 hours per week, with alternate weekends; £12.71 per hour plus benefits such as paid

Qualifications

Cherrybrook Care Home is a large, purpose designed service in Bradford, providing specialist care across two units for 120 residents with complex mental health needs, dementia and challenging behaviours. The home delivers high quality, clinically led care within a structured and supportive environment, combining specialist nursing expertise with a strong focus on dignity, stability and person centred support.

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 31.5 hours per week - Alternate Weekends
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the kitchen team within a specialist complex care setting, supporting individuals with a range of complex physical and mental health needs.

You will assist with food preparation, maintain high standards of cleanliness and ensure food safety procedures are followed at all times. Working as part of the team, you will help prepare meals that meet individual dietary needs, including modified or specialist diets where required.

You will also support with deliveries, storage and kitchen organisation, ensuring all areas are clean, safe and well maintained. Working in a structured environment, you will contribute to the smooth day to day running of the kitchen while supporting a positive dining experience for residents.

• Previous experience working in a kitchen or food preparation role is desirable but not essential
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and food safety practices
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment
