Job summary

Ashridge Court Care Home in East Sussex near Bexhill-on-Sea is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to help deliver high quality meals in a clean, well organised kitchen.

In this hands-on role you will support food preparation, keep the kitchen tidy, assist with deliveries and stock, and work closely with the Chef to ensure meals are prepared efficiently and safely. This role offers DBS paid, pension, uniform provided and generous annual leave on a full-time basis.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Positive and reliable approach.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment.
• Support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation.
• Work closely with the Chef and wider team to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

Ashridge Court Care Centre is a bright, modern care home near Bexhill-on-Sea, set in the East Sussex countryside with sea views and peaceful gardens. The home provides high-quality general nursing care for up to 51 residents in spacious, well-furnished rooms, with compassionate support delivered with dignity, empathy and respect.

Kitchen Assistant

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.
