Job summary

Windyhall Care Home in Ayr is seeking a friendly Kitchen Assistant to join our busy kitchen team. You will support meal preparation and delivery, and help maintain a clean, safe environment.

This part-time role is 16 hours per week, with benefits including PVG, pension and uniform provided, plus 5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full-time contract.

Qualifications

• Positive and reliable approach.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of high quality meals in a clean, safe kitchen environment.
• Assist with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and help with deliveries, storage and stock organisation.
• Collaborate with the Chef and wider team to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

Kitchen Assistant

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 16 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.
