Job summary

The Bedford College Group in Corby is seeking a King’s Trust Team Leader to lead programmes, recruit and deliver King’s Trust activities, and coordinate community projects within our Adult and Community Learning and ESOL department.

You will mentor staff, build partnerships with employers and community organisations, manage records, budgets and safety compliance, and uphold safeguarding and professional standards.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
• Relevant Level 3 qualification
• Teaching qualification or willingness to achieve one
• Strong awareness of equality, diversity, health & safety, and work placement requirements
• Experience leading teams and mentoring young people

Responsibilities

Role: King’s Trust Team Leader

Location: Corby – Community Venue

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £29,316 and £34,394 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays,People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About The Role

We are currently seeking a King’s Trust Team Leader to join our Adult and Community Learning and ESOL department at The Bedford College Group.

• Programme Leadership & Delivery - Recruit, plan, and deliver King’s Trust Team programmes, leading inductions, team-building activities, residentials, community projects, and learning experiences that achieve agreed outcomes and qualifications.
• Participant Support & Development - Provide leadership, mentoring, and regular reviews to support individual and team development, helping participants build skills, confidence, employability, and personal achievement.
• Partnerships & Community Engagement - Build strong relationships with employers, community organisations, schools, job centres, and external agencies to recruit participants, arrange placements, and promote the programme.
• Operational, Financial & Compliance Management - Manage programme records, attendance, achievement data, budgets, risk assessments, health & safety requirements, and the suitability of placements and residential venues.
• Safeguarding & Professional Responsibilities - Uphold safeguarding, equality and diversity, health & safety, and training requirements while representing the College and King’s Trust professionally at meetings, events, and training activities.

About You

• Qualifications & Professional Knowledge - GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent), relevant Level 3 qualification, and a teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve one), with strong understanding of equality, diversity, health & safety, and work placement requirements.
• Leadership & Youth Development Experience - Experience supporting young people, including those with challenging backgrounds or behaviours, with the ability to lead teams, motivate individuals, and help participants realise their potential.
• Communication, Guidance & Relationship Building - Strong communication, counselling, guidance, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and stakeholders.
• Organisation & Operational Skills - Excellent organisational, time management, IT, training, and assessment skills, with the ability to coordinate activities, manage workloads, and meet programme objectives.
• Professionalism & PersonalAttributes - Confident, flexible, self-motivated, and resilient, with a commitment to safeguarding, maintaining professional boundaries, continuous development, and willingness to travel and work across multiple locations.
