Job summary

The Bedford College Group is seeking a Learning Facilitator to join the Additional Learning Support team at Bedford Campus. You will deliver study skills support, develop accessible resources, and assist with assessments to help students progress.

You will record outcomes, collaborate with curriculum staff, and contribute to safeguarding, equality and development activities across the college.

Qualifications

• Level 3 education with GCSE/Level 2 Maths and English required.
• Experience delivering English, maths and study skills support.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to maintain records.

Role:Learning Facilitator

Location:Bedford Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £27,717 and £32,515 per annum, pro rata DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks:37 hours per week / 37 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent -Term Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Learning Facilitator to join our Additional Learning Support department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Learning Facilitator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

• Study Skills Support - Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with identified Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities, helping to develop study, literacy and numeracy skills.
• Learning Resources & Assistive Technology - Develop and maintain accessible learning resources and assistive technologies to meet individual student needs and support effective learning.
• Assessment & Progress Monitoring - Administer, mark and invigilate assessments, working closely with curriculum teams to monitor student progress, attendance and ongoing support requirements.
• Record Keeping & Service Development - Maintain accurate student records, support documentation and statistical information, while identifying opportunities to improve Learning Facilitator services and practices.
• Collaboration, Safeguarding & College Responsibilities - Work collaboratively with curriculum staff and managers, support College events and uphold responsibilities for safeguarding, equality and diversity, health and safety, and continued professional development.

About you:

• Qualifications & Training - Level 3 education with GCSE/Level 2 Maths and English, alongside relevant education and training qualifications, with additional specialist SLDD, BSL, IT, First Aid and safeguarding qualifications desirable or relevant.
• Learning Support Experience - Experience supporting individuals with a range of learning difficulties and/or disabilities, including delivering English, maths and study skills support on a one-to-one or small-group basis across different ages and abilities.
• Communication & Organisation - Strong communication, administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, use Microsoft applications and work confidently using initiative.
• Inclusive & Collaborative Working - A sensitive and supportive approach to individual needs, with the ability to build positive working relationships, work effectively within a team and promote equality, diversity and the College’s values.
• Safeguarding, Flexibility & Mobility - Strong awareness of safeguarding, professional boundaries and health and safety, with a flexible and adaptable approach, willingness to undertake further development and the ability to travel between College locations.
