Job summary

HC-One Ltd. is seeking a friendly Kitchen Assistant to join our care home team. You will assist with meal preparation and serving, help maintain hygiene, and support the Chef or Cook with care and respect for Residents.

We value kindness and offer training, DBS checks, and a range of benefits including generous annual leave and a pension. An NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation is required or a willingness to work toward it.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and record information.
• Willingness to work towards NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with meal preparation under the guidance of the Chef or Cook.
• Serving meals with warmth and respect in a timely and friendly manner.
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and on surfaces.
• Monitoring and recording food storage temperatures.
• Supporting stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
• Showing new team members how to safely operate kitchen equipment.
• Washing up and keeping the kitchen spotless, even after busy periods.
