Job summary

Kirton Lane Primary School in Doncaster is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our Key Stage 2 team. The role supports pupils’ learning, development and wellbeing under the guidance of class teachers.

This fixed-term, term-time only post runs 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a start date as soon as possible. We welcome proactive, caring colleagues who foster inclusive relationships with children, families and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with class teachers and wider staff.
  • Helping to create an inclusive, engaging classroom environment.
  • Promoting independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
  • Forge positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents. Have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to develop excellent professional relationships with children, staff and parents.
  • Understand that, like adults, all children are different and therefore have individual needs and every child has the right to succeed to the best of their ability.
  • Will be expected to support pupils with their personal care needs, which may include intimate care such as changing nappies, assisting with toileting, and maintaining personal hygiene, in accordance with the schools policies and safeguarding procedures.
  • Identify and enact ways to support all children, particularly children with social and emotional needs.
  • Demonstrate a shared commitment to raising standards in all that we do.
  • Be open minded and committed to continually improve their practice.Be an enthusiastic team player with the ability to also work individually using their own initiative.
