An opportunity has become available for a Key Account Manager to join the East Midlands sales team. Reporting into the Regional Sales Manager you will play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence in the designated south region.
With a focus on identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with key decision-makers, and ensuring sales growth and profitability, this is an exciting opportunity to make your mark.
About the role
- Manage time efficiently to achieve personal objectives, which includes building and maintaining a pipeline to deliver against budget and ensuring that SLA`s and stock agreements are adhered to, for the benefit of both parties
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications and maintaining personal networks
- Ensure sales pipeline is maintained accurately and fit for regions needs, as described and documented in 1-2-1 meetings with the Regional Sales Manager
- Develop and communicate with the Regional Sales Manager a clear sales strategy for the geographical area
- Ensure customer contracts and agreements are filed and maintained on the public drive and Paper Price Index reviews are carried out and applied in accordance with the customers SLA
- Develop a relationship with Operations to understand the needs of the factories
- Prepare sales reports and submit them in a timely manner
- Communicate with current and new customers to determine their needs
- Meet face to face with potential clients to convert, close and secure new business
- Work with design and technical to find solutions to customer problems and turn those problems into value for VPK
Skills & experience required
- Previous sales experience in a corrugated, packaging, carton board, flexible packaging, print, or glass environment is essential
- A strong strategic thinker with exceptional relationship-building and key account management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent negotiation skills to navigate complex business scenarios
- Need to be located in or around the East Midlands or Cambridgshire region of the UK
