Job description

I’m delighted to support my client, a successful global logistics firm, in their search for a Key Account Director.

As the Key Account Director, you will be responsible for creating, growing, and managing relationships with high-value accounts in the Energy sector, identifying and initiating growth opportunities.

Candidates with freight/logistics Key Account management experience, dealing with global key accounts in the Energy/Oil and Gas sector, are encouraged to apply.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Develop new business in the energy market
  2. Identify, initiate, and engage with clients that provide sustained and profitable revenue streams
  3. Develop and execute a business plan to achieve sales quotas and budgets as defined by the company
  4. Collaborate with local, regional, and international operations staff to meet customer needs and expectations
  5. Present a range of logistics solutions that enable multiple entry points into accounts
  6. Support and consult with existing customers and further develop accounts
  7. Conduct sales and contract negotiation meetings
  8. Prepare commercial documentation including bids, tenders, and pricing
  9. Plan, organize, and execute customer visits
  10. Implement regular review meetings
  11. Ensure communication between Sales/Customer Service, Operations, and Management

The ideal candidate:

  • Proven track record of growth in the freight, logistics, or energy sector
  • 5-10 years of commercial development experience in the freight/logistics industry
  • Experience in developing high-value, global key accounts
  • Competitive and confident personality with strong persuasive and negotiation skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to respond quickly to sales and service issues
  • Good judgment in selecting methods and strategies
  • Self-motivated with decision-making experience
  • Excellent presentation and follow-up skills
  • Strong customer and service orientation
  • Flexible, resilient, and adaptable to change
