Data Intellect is seeking an experienced kdb+ engineer to join our capital markets consultancy in London. You will collaborate with business users to define requirements, develop robust applications, and support project delivery in a high-performance client-facing environment.

The role involves solving complex time-series data challenges, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to a culture of learning within a close-knit team. Hybrid work is offered with international client exposure.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial kdb+ development experience with real-time and historical data.
• Strong knowledge of q language and time-series data structures.
• Experience in Unix/Linux environments.
• Excellent client-facing communication skills.
• Prior experience in Capital Markets/Investment Banking/Consulting.

Job Description

What you’ll be doing:

• Collaborating with business users to define new application requirements.

Qualifications

Experience and skills required:

• 4+ years of commercial kdb+ development experience working with both real-time and historical data.
• Solid understanding of q language and time-series data structures.
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies and the SDLC.
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent client-facing communication skills.
• Prior experience of working in Capital Markets/Investment Banking/Consulting

Bonus Skills (Not Required):

• Knowledge of Python, cloud platforms or other time-series databases.
• Exposure to AI tooling (Claude, Co-Pilot)
• Exposure to project leadership or people management.
• Contribution to internal tools, documentation or community initiatives.
