Data Intellect is seeking an experienced kdb+ engineer ready to tackle challenging problems for global financial institutions from London. This role welcomes candidates with strong commercial kdb+ expertise and a track record of delivering impact in complex environments.

Visa sponsorship may be considered for those who can contribute from day one in a high-performance, client-facing consultancy setting. Hybrid working options are available across regions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial kdb+ development experience with real-time and historical data.
• Solid understanding of q language and time-series data structures.
• Experience in Unix/Linux environments.
• Strong problem-solving and logical thinking.
• Familiarity with SDLC and software development methodologies.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent client-facing communication skills.
• Prior Capital Markets/Investment Banking/Consulting exposure.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business users to define new application requirements.
• Develop, test, and maintain clean, performant code for client applications.
• Support project delivery alongside Project Managers and senior developers.
• Work as part of a close-knit team to deliver solutions on time and budget.
• Analyze large-scale time-series data and generate actionable reports.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to a culture of learning.

What you’ll be doing:

• Collaborating with business users to define new application requirements.

• Supporting project delivery alongside Project Managers and senior developers.

Experience and skills required:

• 4+ years of commercial kdb+ development experience working with both real-time and historical data.

• Familiarity with software development methodologies and the SDLC.
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Prior experience of working in Capital Markets/Investment Banking/Consulting
