Data Intellect in the United Kingdom is seeking a kdb+ developer to join our consultancy. You'll work with leading capital markets institutions, collaborating with business users to define requirements and translate them into robust, performant code.

The role offers hybrid working across our global offices, strong professional development, and clear progression cycles. You’ll mentor junior developers, contribute to internal tooling, and help deliver solutions on time and within budget.

Competenze

• 2+ years of hands-on kdb+ development experience.
• Solid understanding of q language and time-series data structures.
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies and the SDLC.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex systems to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Prior experience in Capital Markets/Investment Banking is advantageous but not essential.

Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

• Collaborating with business users to define new application requirements.
• Developing, testing, and maintainingclean, performantcode for client applications.
• Supporting project delivery alongside Project Managers and senior developers.
• Working as part of a close-knit team to deliver solutions on time and on budget.
• Analysing large-scale time-series data and generating actionable reports.
• Mentoring junior developers and contributing to a culture of continuous learning.

Qualifications

What You Bring

• 2+ years of hands-on kdb+ development experience.
• Solid understanding of q language and time-series data structures.
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies and the SDLC.
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex systems to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Prior experience of working in Capital Markets/Investment Banking is advantageous but not essential

Bonus Skills (Not Essential)

• Experience in Capital Markets or Investment Banking.
• Knowledge of Python, cloud platforms, or other time-series databases.
• Exposure to AI tooling (Claude, Co-Pilot etc.)
• Exposure to project leadership or people management.
• Contribution to internal tools, documentation, or community initiatives.
