Job description

Sheffield Sea Cadets are recruiting for a Juniors Training Officer (JTO) to lead our Junior Sea Cadet section.

Junior Sea Cadets is our entry level programme for young people ages 9-12. The programme offers a fun, hands on learning experience that encourages them to learn skills they can build upon, during their time with the Sea Cadets and supports their transition to becoming a senior cadet post their 12th birthday.

At Sheffield unit we currently have around 12 Junior Sea Cadets parading on both Monday and Thursday nights 1830-2100.

The successful applicant will be responsible for taking the lead in delivering this programme within the unit, supported by the unit command team. The successful applicant will need to produce and deliver a varied monthly training programme utilising a suite of pre-planned sessions for the Junior Sea Cadets.

Essential Criteria-

· Experience of working with children and young people

· Ability to commit to an average of at least one parade night per week

· Good organisational skills

· Enthusiastic and approachable

· Basic computer skills

Desirable Criteria-

· Teaching or Instructional qualification

· Ability to commit to both parade nights per week (Mon & Thu)
