We're working with a specialist technology and engineering business in Derbyshire that is looking to add a Junior Network Test Engineer to its growing Test and Integration team.
This is a great opportunity for a graduate, apprentice leaver or early-career engineer looking to build hands‑on experience across networking, software testing, systems integration and cyber security technologies.
You’ll work alongside experienced software, hardware and test engineers, receiving support and mentoring while developing practical experience of testing complex networking products and integrated systems.
The role would suit someone who enjoys understanding how technology works, investigating problems and getting hands‑on with different systems rather than simply following a set process.
You’ll ideally have a degree, HND, apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualification in an area such as:
You should also have a good foundation in networking, including:
We're not expecting you to know everything from day one. More important is a genuine interest in technology, good problem-solving skills and the willingness to investigate and learn.
Any exposure to the following would be beneficial, but isn't essential:
You’ll be someone who is naturally curious about technology and enjoys finding out why something works - or why it doesn't.
You’ll need good attention to detail, a methodical approach to testing and the confidence to investigate technical problems. You’ll also be working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, so good communication and teamwork are important.
Due to the nature of the projects, candidates must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
This is a fully onsite role in Derbyshire.
