Job description

The Peninsula London is seeking to hire a Junior Technician who will take pride in assisting Engineers, Technicians, Painters, Decorators, and Carpenters in their day-to-day maintenance and repair of all Mechanical & Electrical equipment, fixtures, and fittings throughout the hotel.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure engineering maintenance requests are carried out in a timely manner to a good standard, in accordance with established policies and procedures, maintenance programmes, and operational schedules, including but not limited to: House Rules and Regulations, Health and Safety, Emergency Response, and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Participate and contribute to daily team pre-shift briefings to ensure seamless communication and optimal operating performance.
• Closely monitor and control all operating parameters of guest rooms and public area building services systems to ensure high efficiency of utilization, reporting any deviations to the Director of Engineering and/or Assistant Director of Engineering without delay.
• Cooperate and coordinate with all engineers and external contractors as necessary, and interact with other departments to provide additional or specialized guest services.

General Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within a similar environment.
• Trade certified or NVQ Level in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Good understanding of building services and relevant rules & regulations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Good problem-solving skills, organized, and detail-oriented.
• This position requires night shift duties based on operational needs. The ability and willingness to work during these hours is a necessary condition of employment.
