Pasture Birmingham is recruiting a proactive Junior Sous Chef to join a high-energy kitchen team at 15 Colmore Row. You’ll support the Head Chef, lead sections during service, and help develop seasonal dishes using local produce.

You’ll thrive under pressure in a vibrant, open kitchen that values craft, community, and consistent quality. A passion for hospitality and leadership to mentor junior chefs is essential for growth within Pasture.

Qualifications

• Experience in fresh food kitchens at Chef de Partie or Junior Sous level.
• Ability to lead during busy services.
• Strong organisational skills and calm under pressure.
• Commitment to high standards of food safety.
• Interest in menu development and mentoring junior chefs.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Lead and manage services to deliver high-quality food.
• Run the pass with clarity and attention to detail.
• Help create seasonal dishes using local produce.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and kitchen organisation.
• Assist with stock control, ordering and waste management.
• Support the development and training of junior chefs and new starters.
• Bring positivity, consistency and leadership to every shift.
