Job summary

Young's in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to join our busy kitchen team. The role suits someone stepping up from a CDP or current Sous Chef looking for a next challenge, with a focus on quality fresh food and working in a welcoming, village-pub environment.

Offering a competitive hourly rate of up to £15 plus tips, overtime, service charge and tronc, you will work part-time and contribute to daily specials, menus and training.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing a team
• Hands-on chef with strong communication
• Ability to design and deliver new dishes
• Strong planning and organisational skills

Responsibilities

• Champion excellent service through quality food and leadership
• Lead and develop the kitchen team, ensuring smooth service
• Be a hands-on Chef with clear communication and presence on the pass
• Manage kitchen staff rota, training, and health and safety compliance
• Collaborate with Head Chef to create new dishes and daily specials
• Maintain GP and labour controls through careful planning and execution
• Drive sales and growth by engaging with kitchen and front-of-house teams
