Job summary

High Horse is seeking a motivated Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team in Newbury. You will support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations, helping maintain high standards and a collaborative environment.

We offer £13.70 per hour, a 100% service charge going to the team (roughly £200–£250 monthly for full-time staff), shifts with food on shift, and opportunities for development within the Dodo Pub Co family.

Junior Sous Chef – High Horse

We’re looking for a motivated and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join our crew!

High Horse is part of the Dodo Pub Co – known for top-notch Neapolitan pizzas, burgers, and unbeatable vibes. At our core, we’re neighbourhood pubs dedicated to serving products we’re 100% proud of, delivered by people who are 100% committed to what they do.

From the bar. We offer a wide selection of craft beers, wines, and cocktails – all served by knowledgeable and passionate staff to customers who care about quality and community.

From the kitchen. We serve authentic Neapolitan pizzas cooked at 450°C in our pizza oven, alongside tasty burgers, brunch dishes, and sides that hit the spot.

As Junior Sous Chef, you’ll assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in managing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. You’ll be calm under pressure, a great communicator, and an inspiring leader who is committed to delivering high standards and supporting your team.
