LGH Hotels Management is hiring a Junior Sous Chef for the Derby Mickleover Hotel, part of the Signature Collection By Best Western. You will join a hospitality-focused kitchen team, leading sections during service and helping to develop junior chefs while upholding food safety and quality.

Located just west of Derby, the hotel offers a premium guest experience and collaboration with a supportive hotel team.

Formación

Responsabilidades

• Support day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Lead sections during service ensuring high food quality.
• Coach and develop junior kitchen staff.
• Maintain food hygiene, health and safety, and HACCP standards.
• Assist with stock control, ordering, and waste minimisation.
• Support menu development and seasonal specials.
• Collaborate with hotel team to deliver outstanding guest experience.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting the day-to-day running of the kitchen

• Assisting with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who combines technical skill with a genuine passion for people and hospitality.

You'll likely have:

• Experience as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef within a hotel, restaurant, or premium hospitality environment
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and kitchen operations
• A positive, hands-on leadership style
• The ability to remain calm and organised during busy service periods
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A passion for coaching and developing others
• Good understanding of food safety and health & safety requirements
• A desire to continue learning and progressing your career
