Job summary

Findmypast is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our Product & Technology team in the UK. You will learn, grow and contribute to products used by customers around the world, working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

You’ll develop, test and maintain software, participate in reviews and releases, and grow your skills through mentoring and hands-on experience in a modern engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Exposure to software development through education, personal projects, placements, apprenticeships or professional experience.
• Knowledge of at least one programming language and the willingness to learn others.
• Understanding of software development principles and modern engineering practices.
• Familiarity with source control systems such as Git.
• Awareness of software testing concepts and quality assurance practices.
• Understanding of how software applications are built, deployed and supported.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an inquisitive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to the delivery of customer-facing products and internal platforms.
• Supporting the investigation and resolution of software defects and technical issues.

We're looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join our Product & Technology team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone at the beginning of their engineering career who is eager to learn, grow and contribute to products used by customers around the world.

As a Junior Software Engineer, you'll work as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, helping to design, develop, test and maintain software that delivers real value to our customers. You'll be supported by experienced engineers, receive coaching and feedback, and gain hands-on experience across the software development lifecycle.

Requirements
