Job summary

Findmypast is looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join our Product & Technology team. This role offers hands-on learning across the software development lifecycle and mentorship from experienced engineers in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Exposure to software development through education, projects or work experience.
• Knowledge of at least one programming language and willingness to learn others.
• Understanding of software development principles and modern engineering practices.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Awareness of software testing concepts and quality assurance practices.
• Understanding of how software applications are built, deployed and supported.
• Growth mindset with enthusiasm for learning new technologies and ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Developing, testing and maintaining software components and services.
• Contributing to the delivery of customer-facing products and internal platforms.
• Supporting the investigation and resolution of software defects and technical issues.
