Job summary

BAE Systems Digital Intelligence is seeking a Junior SOC Analyst to join the Leeds-based SOC team. The role involves monitoring and investigating security events across cloud and on-prem environments, with a focus on AWS/Azure and network security.

You will produce incident tickets and contribute to remediation efforts while developing threat intelligence usage in daily operations. Candidates must be able to obtain SC clearance and be prepared for DV clearance.

Qualifications

• Must have strong practical knowledge of cyber security operations and incident handling.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and network security concepts.
• Ability to investigate complex network intrusions and contribute to incident response.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, triage, analyse and investigate alerts, log data and network traffic to identify cyber incidents.
• Categorise suspected incidents per policy.
• Recognise intrusion attempts and compromises through event analysis.
• Prepare high-quality security incident tickets with research and knowledge resources.
• Assist with remediation activities to block repeat attacks and secure networks.
• Produce incident review reports with actionable improvement recommendations.
• Apply Threat Intelligence in operational workflows and incident responses.
• Support national-scale incident responses and collaborate with teammates across teams.
