Job summary

Experis IT seeks a Senior Security Operations Analyst to join a growing Information Security team in a hybrid role (Manchester or Leeds). You will monitor, detect and respond to threats, manage SIEM operations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen security posture.

The ideal candidate has hands-on SIEM experience, knowledge of Cloud security, and the ability to analyze complex security events.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of security principles and networks.
• Ability to identify vulnerabilities, gaps in controls and security weaknesses.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM technologies (engineering and administration).
• Experience with Google SecOps (Chronicle) would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Firewalls, IDS/IPS and Windows Security Event Logs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with broader technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operation of the SIEM platform (monitoring, administration, optimisation).
• Develop and tune detection rules and use cases to improve threat visibility.
• Investigate security alerts and incidents through to resolution.
• Provide monitoring and incident response capabilities across the organisation.
• Analyse security events to identify trends and emerging threats.
• Escalate and track security issues through to remediation.
• Assess threats and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Respond to cyber security incidents with data and evidence.
