Job summary

BAE Systems Digital Intelligence is seeking an experienced AWS Developer to join our Leeds-based team. You’ll work in autonomous DevOps squads, building and maintaining AWS-based systems for National Security customers, with end-users in the loop to understand needs and drive rapid delivery.

You’ll contribute to selecting technologies, adopting DevOps practices, and growing through training and the company’s learning platform while operating in a hybrid working model across UK sites.

Qualifications

• Experience with AWS and solving complex business issues; AWS SME
• Demonstrated expertise with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, etc)
• Scripting in Shell/Bash/Python
• Proficient in at least one Lambda-compatible language
• Proficient in IaC (CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform)
• Source control experience (Git, Mercurial, Perforce)
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; eager to learn
• Experience in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe)
• AWS Certification at Associate level is advantageous
• Knowledge of microservices and API design
• Docker and Kubernetes experience
• CI/CD tooling experience (Bamboo, Jenkins, TeamCity, Bitbucket)
• Automated testing and Linux networking knowledge

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain systems on AWS as part of DevOps teams
• Collaborate with National Security customers to deliver mission capabilities
• Identify appropriate technologies and drive delivery across multiple teams
• Support end-users and maintain systems with training and documentation
• Participate in broader Engineering community to grow skills
