Job summary

Yelp is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer in the United Kingdom to help keep the platform fast, reliable, and scalable. You will work across development and systems teams to support new features and operate critical infrastructure that serves millions of users.

You’ll automate with Python, Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, Git, and Jenkins, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to open-source efforts. Location is the United Kingdom with a collaborative, fun engineering culture.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Linux systems and Ubuntu.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with engineers to support new features and services.
• Build tools to monitor site stability and performance.
• Help ensure reliability and scalability of infrastructure while maintaining SLOs.
• Troubleshoot site issues using Splunk, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.
• Own and operate critical datastores including Cassandra and MySQL.
• Automate infrastructure with Python, Puppet, Git, Jenkins, Terraform and AI tooling.
• Develop custom tools when off-the-shelf solutions don’t scale.
• Participate in light on-call rotations with distributed SRE teams.
