Yelp is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer in the United Kingdom to help build and manage globally distributed systems. You’ll automate tooling, monitor performance, and own critical datastores while supporting feature development across teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with Python, Go, Java or C++ in large-scale services.
• Strong Linux fundamentals and container orchestration.
• Hands‑on with public cloud and IaC tools.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineers to support new features and services.
• Build tools to monitor site stability and performance.
• Ensure reliability and scalability while meeting SLOs.
• Troubleshoot site issues using modern tools.
• Own and operate Cassandra and MySQL datastores.
• Automate with Python, Puppet, Git, Jenkins, Terraform.
• Develop custom tools when off‑the‑shelf solutions fail.
• Participate in light on‑call rotations across distributed teams.
