Job summary

Corecom Tech Academy offers an introductory, full-time training path in site reliability engineering, conducted on a hybrid basis (classroom and remote). After training, trainees join BAE Digital Intelligence projects, deploying and maintaining software platforms, and gaining industry experience.

You will learn to write code, work across languages, and become proficient in AWS, with strong emphasis on incident investigation and reliability improvements.

Our client, BAE Digital Intelligence, are looking to grow their Site Reliability capability following continuous growth and success in the UK National Security sector at their Manchester Office.

About The Role

It all starts with our introductory training courses, covering everything you need to know to get started in the world of site reliability engineering. Our in-depth training is full time and is delivered on a hybrid learning basis (classroom & and remote). You'll learn a lot quite quickly – it will be fast-paced, but enjoyable and highly engaging!

After the training period you’ll have the opportunity to gain industry experience by joining BAE and working on their projects. For this specific role you will:

• Work across a variety of customer facing projects and problems to deploy and maintain our customers Software Platforms
• Be able to write code that can contribute to the creation of mission critical systems
• Use a variety of programming languages and technologies. Engineers are versatile and can work with various languages and technologies depending on the situation. You might specialise in 1 or 2 technical areas, or might want to learn many more on your journey through the business
• Become proficient in AWS Cloud (extensive training to be provided on this technology from BAE)
• Use monitoring, data and reporting to understand how systems are performing, identify problems and help improve the reliability of critical services
• Help investigate incidents and technical issues, using data and evidence to understand what went wrong and prevent problems from happening again

About You

• Have a passion for working in Software development, cloud development and an interest in exploring Agile methodologies and ways of working
• Be able to display the following competencies and behaviours: problem solving, attention to detail, adaptability and the desire to ‘fix’ things
• Be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to build trust and a rapport
• Motivated by technical challenges
• Ability and enthusiasm to learn - you’re up for the challenge and ready to work hard for it
• You have a degree, but it doesn’t have to be in CompSci or a STEM degree
• You don’t have a degree, but you have some recent work experience or you’ve been doing some upskilling in technology recently

Travel

Please note as a Site Reliability Engineer you may be required to work on client sites and also come into your base office on a regular basis. Expense costs will be covered to client sites if they are further away than your base office. If you have concerns about this; please speak to Corecom Tech Academy for more clarity. The expectation for this role is 3-4 days a week minimum requirement in your base office or as much as your individual project requires (which may be up to 5 days a week).

Security Clearance

Only those with the permanent and unrestricted right to live and work in the UK will be considered for a position within BAE Systems Digital Intelligence, with strict residency & nationality requirements. Due to the nature of our work, successful candidates for this role will be required to go through Government SC clearance prior to starting with us and DV Clearance shortly before or after joining:

For this role, the start date is 11th January 2027 with in-person assessments to be held w/c 23rd November 2026.
