Job description

Are you an experienced Band 5 Registered Nurse looking to develop your career? We have exciting opportunities for Band 6 vacancies across the Acute Specialist Medicine Wards. A special interest in these areas is preferred.

We seek enthusiastic, energetic individuals with excellent communication skills and evidence of leadership potential to help develop your managerial skills. You will be committed to providing high-quality, patient-focused care in Acute Specialist Medicine.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Ward Leader, maintaining standards and quality in ward management, providing expert clinical support, and supporting the development of junior ward staff.

We are dedicated to staff development and education, offering access to a wide range of resources.

Applicants should have experience as a Band 5 in a ward setting, demonstrate leadership abilities, and be responsible for staff development, teaching, appraisal, and wellbeing. Managing complaints and collaborating with the Ward Leader to ensure timely responses are also key responsibilities.

You will act as an expert in caring for a specific patient group, providing leadership and serving as a positive role model. Participation in audits and quality improvement initiatives is expected, along with fostering a culture of safety and empowerment among staff. Supporting staff development, including students and new team members, is essential.
