Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions Ltd is recruiting for a Junior Shift Electrical Engineer on a permanent basis to support a large static site in Edinburgh. The role covers electrical PPMs, reactive tasks and related building fabric works, with weekend and on-call rota considerations.

The candidate should hold City & Guilds Level 2/3 and 18th Edition; COSHH/IOSH training is preferred, and a full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be electrically qualified with trade certificates.
• Experience in commercial building maintenance and PPM tasks.
• Ability to read and follow permits to work and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical PPM and reactive maintenance on a static site.
• Assist with other building services including basic fabric and HVAC tasks.
• Provide callout response as per rota and ensure SLAs are met.
• Coordinate sub-contractors and monitor workmanship.

Job description

Junior Shift Electrical Engineer - Edinburgh - Salary up to £39,000 DOE

CBW have a new opportunity to join a leading facilities company on a permanent basis covering a large static site based in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be required to complete PPM's and Reactive based works and assisting with other building fabric works.

Hours of Work:

• Rotating Shift Patterm
• Dayshift - 06:00 to 14:00
• Backshift - 14:00 to 22:00
• Nightshift - 22:00 to 06:00

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for electrical PPM, proactive and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within set time frames so that the customer expectations are exceeded.
• Responsibility for other types of building services maintenance to include basic fabric, HVAC, mechanical and related tasks.
• To provide callout response for the client as detailed on the callout rota.
• To undertake contractor control duties on behalf of the client, including monitoring of contractors and their workmanship, so that relevant standards are met. Issue of Permits to Work
• All Planned Maintenance and Reactive tasks to be carried out to the highest standards and delivered within the requirements of the Service Level Agreements.
• Active involvement in day-to-day operation of the building services plant and equipment.
• Effective fault finding on building services plant and equipment.
• Carry out / assist in all minor new works including system installations and refurbishments as required.
• Coordination of sub-contractor activities.

Person Specification:

• Electrically qualified - City & Guilds Level 2&3
• City & Guilds - 18th Edition
• COSSH, IOSH, People Management (Desirable)
• Must be able to provide copies of your trade certificates
• A proven track record in commercial building maintenance
• Good communication skills

Salary & Benefits:

• Salary up to £39,000 DOE
• On call one weekend in 8 (Driving License is essential)
