Job summary

SR2 REC LTD is seeking a Junior Security Engineer in England (London area) to support cybersecurity remediation and security improvements across government and public sector environments.

This hands-on role focuses on implementing security controls, resolving vulnerabilities and strengthening cyber resilience via Microsoft 365, Azure and related security tools.

Qualifications

• Hands-on security engineering for remediation and improvement in Microsoft 365 and Azure.
• Experience implementing security controls and monitoring security events.
• Familiar with IAM, PAM, MFA, Conditional Access and Zero Trust.

Responsibilities

• Implement and configure security solutions using Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, Purview, Entra ID and Intune.
• Deliver hands-on remediation across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
• Configure IAM, PAM, MFA, and Conditional Access controls.
• Implement Zero Trust measures, DLP, endpoint protection and threat detection.
• Develop detection rules and investigations using KQL.

Job description

We are looking for multiple Junior Security Engineer to support cybersecurity remediation and security improvement initiatives across government and public sector environments.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on implementing security controls, resolving vulnerabilities and strengthening cyber resilience across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and configure security solutions using Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, Purview, Entra ID and Intune.
• Deliver hands‑on technical security remediation across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
• Configure and improve Identity and Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), MFA and Conditional Access controls.
• Implement Zero Trust security measures, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), endpoint protection and threat detection capabilities.
• Develop and optimise security monitoring, alerting and automated detection using Microsoft Sentinel and KQL.
• Ensure technical solutions align with NCSC guidance, Secure by Design principles and government security standards.
• Active SC clearance
• Strong hands‑on experience implementing and supporting Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, Purview and Entra ID.
• Proven experience configuring and securing Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Strong understanding of IAM, PAM, Zero Trust, DLP, cloud security and security operations.
• Experience developing detection rules, investigating security events and working with KQL.
