Job summary

BaxterStorey in London is seeking a passionate Commis Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team. You will prepare and cook dishes to the head chef's recipes, maintain high food safety standards, and contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

You will work closely with colleagues, be involved in menu development, coach junior chefs, and help uphold BaxterStorey’s values of curiosity, collaboration and sustainable hospitality.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a Commis Chef or similar role.
• Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Works according to the BaxterStorey core values

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and head chef standards.
• Oversee station production and maintain your designated area with supplies and cleanliness.
• Maintain high quality standards for presentation and taste.
• Communicate positively with team and coach junior chefs.
• Collaborate with head chef on menu development and tasting.
• Maintain cleanliness and equipment in good working order.
