Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Junior Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a manufacturing site in Wellington, near Taunton. You will gain hands-on training across production machinery, maintenance tasks and site equipment, with clear progression into a skilled Engineer role.

Working Monday to Friday with 7:30am-4:30pm (Fri 7:30am-12:30pm) and uncapped overtime at enhanced rates, you will perform planned preventive maintenance, breakdowns and installations while learning from

• Mechanically Biased with an interest in manufacturing or production machinery.

Are you a Junior Maintenance Engineer, Trainee Maintenance Engineer, Apprentice Engineer, or similar with a mechanical bias and an interest in building a career in a manufacturing environment, with an established company offering excellent training and the chance to develop into a skilled Maintenance Engineer?

On offer is the opportunity to join an established manufacturing business where you will receive hands‑on training to build your skills across production machinery, maintenance, and site equipment. You will work alongside experienced engineers, learning how to support production and keep machinery running safely and efficiently.

In this varied role, you will perform planned preventative maintenance, breakdowns, repairs, machinery installations, and general maintenance tasks across production machinery and site equipment. You will be trained on the company's specialist machinery while working closely with production teams and senior engineers to minimise downtime and support the smooth running of the site.

This role would suit someone with mechanical experience or a manufacturing background who is looking for a Monday to Friday role, training, uncapped overtime at enhanced rates, and the opportunity to build a long‑term career as a Maintenance Engineer.
