Job summary

Danielle Ward Recruitment is partnering with a fashion retailer to recruit a commercially minded and analytical Junior Merchandiser. You will support merchandising plans, help build balanced ranges, and work with Buyers to optimise stock and profitability.

You will analyse performance, monitor trends, and assist in-season trading decisions within a fast-paced retail environment, developing experience across forecasting, reporting tools, and BI systems.

Qualifications

• Has experience in fashion merchandising or retail with a focus on sales, stock and margin performance.
• Highly analytical with comfort using Excel and numerical data to drive decisions.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Support development and delivery of merchandising plans to hit sales, stock, intake and profit targets.
• Collaborate with Buyers to build balanced product ranges reflecting customer and brand strategy.
• Prepare and maintain sales, stock, intake and profit plans, including space and options planning.
• Monitor weekly sales and stock performance to identify trends and opportunities.
• Assist in-season trading decisions, manage stock levels, intake phasing and markdown activity as needed.
• Track key KPIs (sales, margin, stock cover, markdown) to maximise departmental profitability.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to monitor deliveries and intake targets.
