Job summary

Danielle Ward Recruitment is seeking a Merchandiser for a well-established fashion retailer. You will take ownership of departmental performance, influence commercial decisions and drive profitability through expert range planning and trading.

You'll work with Buying and internal teams to develop product ranges, manage stock and ensure timely deliveries, across a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in fashion or retail merchandising with range planning, forecasting and stock management.
• Commercial mindset with strong analytical ability and experience managing budgets, sales and stock plans.
• Strong Excel skills, excellent organisational abilities and data-driven decision making.
• Experience collaborating with suppliers and internal teams in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of departmental merchandising plans, including sales, stock, intake, profit and markdown budgets.
• Work closely with the Buyer to develop balanced, commercially successful product ranges reflecting customer expectations.
• Lead range, option and space planning to align product mix, pricing, stock requirements and delivery timings with strategy.
• Manage in-season trading across categories, reviewing sales performance, stock levels and intake phasing.
• Utilise WSSI and other tools to forecast performance and manage open-to-buy (OTB).
• Identify opportunities to repeat, cancel or re-phase orders and recommend promotions and markdown activity.
• Monitor KPIs including sales, margin, stock cover and markdown; take action to protect profitability.
• Collaborate with Stock Distribution and internal teams to ensure timely deliveries and stock availability.
