Job summary

Manchester Central Hospital is seeking a Junior Operational Estates Officer (Mechanical) to join the Estates and Facilities team in Manchester. You will lead a multi-disciplinary maintenance team, oversee planned and reactive maintenance, and liaise with contractors to ensure safe, compliant mechanical services across the hospital estate.

The role requires an NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Background or equivalent, with experience in building services and strong health and safety knowledge.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Background or similar.
• Experience managing mechanical building services.
• Strong knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
• Experience with contracts and external contractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Mechanical Services team, ensuring safe, efficient maintenance.
• Oversee planned and reactive maintenance and compliance with statutory requirements.
• Manage contractors and service providers, monitoring performance and value for money.
• Provide technical lead for mechanical systems and support cross-team projects.
