Job summary

Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny is seeking an experienced Estates Officer to lead maintenance services across the hospital site. You will manage directly employed staff and contractors, ensuring electrical, mechanical and building fabric works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

The role involves overseeing hard FM contracts, staff development, and adherence to health and safety standards, contributing to patient and staff wellbeing in an NHS setting.

Qualifications

• Experience managing building, engineering, or estates maintenance services.
• Proven leadership and people-management abilities.
• Knowledge of statutory compliance and health & safety standards.
• Experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Budget management and financial accountability experience.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and maintenance schedules.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage maintenance staff and specialist contractors.
• Oversee electrical, mechanical, and building fabric maintenance.
• Manage hard FM contracts and workforce performance.
• Ensure compliant, safe, and efficient facilities for patients, staff and visitors.

• Monitor budgets and ensure adherence to instructions.
