Job summary

You will assist senior engineers with HVAC design, 2D/3D modelling in AutoCAD and Revit, and help deliver projects across new-build and refurbishment efforts.

Degree in mechanical or building services engineering is required; familiarity with software and a collaborative, proactive mindset are valued.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and development of mechanical building services systems (HVAC, heating, ventilation, domestic water, drainage).
• Support engineers with calculations, technical drawings, specifications and documentation.
• Assist with 2D/3D modelling using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Support site surveys, inspections and condition assessments.
• Prepare technical reports, schedules and project documentation.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, architects, contractors and stakeholders.
• Develop understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards.
• Support development of energy-efficient and low-carbon solutions (heat pumps, heat networks).
• Attend site visits and provide technical support during delivery.
• Work under supervision of senior engineers while progressively taking responsibility.

Junior Mechanical Engineer - Building Services

About the Role

We are looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing building services engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic engineer looking to develop their career within a specialist consultancy focused on sustainable building design, energy efficiency and decarbonisation.

The successful candidate will support senior engineers in delivering mechanical building services designs across a range of new-build, refurbishment and energy-efficiency projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and development of mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, heating, ventilation, domestic water and above-ground drainage.
• Support engineers with calculations, technical drawings, specifications and design documentation.
• Assist with 2D and 3D modelling using software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• Support site surveys, inspections and condition assessments.
• Assist with the preparation of technical reports, schedules and project documentation.
• Work collaboratively with electrical engineers, architects, contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Develop an understanding of UK building regulations, CIBSE guidance and relevant industry standards.
• Support the development of energy-efficient and low-carbon engineering solutions, including heat pumps, heat networks and other sustainable technologies.
• Attend site visits and assist with technical support during project delivery.
• Work under the guidance of senior engineers while progressively taking responsibility for elements of project work.

About You
