Job description

Position

Under the supervision of the Senior Controller, you will assist in maintaining financial reporting, controlling, and planning functions, as well as internal control for our fashion brands, while working on ad hoc projects. You will liaise daily with the Finance Head Offices of the brands, Retail/Store Managers, and the internal accounting team.

Job Responsibilities

Financial Reporting, Controlling & Planning

• Prepare and publish IFRS management accounts (P&L and Balance Sheet) monthly, including review of the monthly package for each brand, balance sheet reports, and follow-up with accountants to resolve issues.
• Prepare stock, purchases, and margin reconciliations, along with monthly accruals.
• Manage Syrus input for month-end and budget processes, collaborating with the accounting team on journal entries for closing.
• Coordinate and lead the preparation of financial forecasts, analyzing and reporting variances.
• Explain variances between budget and actuals to Head Office monthly, developing standardized reports such as sales and discount analysis.
• Provide financial analyses for capital investments, sales, stock, margin, communications, and selling expenses.
• Focus on gross margin evolution and store profitability, analyzing variances with stock controllers and store managers.
• Conduct P&L reviews and ad hoc analyses with Retail Managers.

Internal Control

• Review invoices and participate in the payment process, ensuring proper task delegation.
• Collaborate with the Internal Control department to develop, document, and strengthen internal processes and policies.

Other Tasks

• Liaise regularly with store managers, assisting with finance or operational issues.
• Participate in annual stock takes and analyze variances with stock controllers and store managers.
• Assist in process improvement projects.

Profile

Education and Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role; familiarity with the fashion and retail industry is a plus.
• Degree in Finance or a related field; Master in Finance, DESCF, CIMA, or a recent ACCA qualification.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and experienced with ERP systems like JDE and reporting systems such as Syrus.
• Fluent in English; French and/or Spanish skills are advantageous.
