About

One of the UK's largest confectionery companies is looking for a junior Lab Technician to join their team in Reading. This role is suitable for someone with interest or qualification in the food and/or science industry.

Responsibilities

• Work across different departments including analytical, food product development, and food manufacturing as needed.
• Provide high-quality customer service by organizing workload, ensuring data integrity, and delivering results accurately and promptly.
• Perform routine analysis, product manufacturing, and sample preparation under supervision.
• Follow specified methodologies, such as Standard Operating Procedures.
• Use laboratory instrumentation and equipment, including calibration.
• Maintain accurate records of work and results.
• Follow product formulations and methods, considering food safety to produce food products at bench or manufacturing scale.
• Operate basic lab and manufacturing equipment as directed.
• Use relevant software packages like LIMS and Q-Pulse.
• Perform administrative and housekeeping duties as required.

Qualifications

• A levels in a scientific discipline preferred.
