Work for a leading engineering consultancy specializing in building services. Join a team of experienced engineers and designers providing innovative and sustainable solutions for a range of projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and industrial in the UK and internationally.

We are seeking a Junior/Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team. You will produce mechanical designs for building services projects, from initial concept to final delivery. Contribute to exciting projects within a dynamic and innovative team that positively impacts the built environment.

• Develop, sketch designs, and create design briefs dictated by clients or engineering managers.
• Take full responsibility for technical and financial decisions, including system choice, organization of works, and project development, ensuring compliance with time restrictions.
• Undertake building surveys and prepare reports on mechanical aspects, including capacity, compliance with codes and regulations, and energy evaluation.
• Understand basic physics and design parameters related to other disciplines.
• Have a comprehensive understanding of the physics and design parameters of all mechanical works and be able to implement designs, including energy assessments.
• Be computer literate and assist in preparing drawings using CAD; translate requirements for CAD Technicians.
• Exercise independent technical judgment and apply engineering principles, standards, codes of practice, and regulations.
• Maintain proactive attitude to meet project timelines and manage time effectively.
• Possess knowledge of British standards, building regulations, and related documents.
• Able to work independently without supervision.

Qualifications:

• A degree in mechanical or building services engineering (Chartered or working towards). HNC or HND with relevant design experience considered.
• Proficiency in software such as Microsoft Office, Hevacomp, AutoCAD.
