Job summary

Gensler’s Birmingham office is seeking a Junior Interior Designer to join our team of design thinkers. You will be involved in handling the client process, with excellent presentation and relationship building skills, and the ability to understand and interpret client needs and requirements.

A self-motivated team player with a positive, communicative and collaborative approach, the Interior Designer will work in partnership with colleagues across Gensler’s practice areas, as well as with vendors

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited school.
• A good working knowledge of Revit is essential.
• Strong presentation and client relations skills are required.
• Excellent graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas.
• Excellent collaboration and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to all project phases: strategy, test fits, schematic plans and conceptual designs.
• Produce graphic presentations, including 3D renderings, for client presentations.
• Prepare construction documents with plans, elevations, details and specs.
• Assist in managing team and client communication.
• Collaborate with consultants, contractors, fabricators and other vendors to achieve project objectives.
• Contribute to office culture, mentorship and talent development.
• Support Principals in client, contractor and design team communications.
