Job summary

Hawk Hiring LTD is seeking a Junior Van Technician/Improver Mechanic for our Sittingbourne Volkswagen Van Centre. You will perform routine servicing and repairs while gaining paid one-on-one mentorship to master diagnostics and commercial EV tech.

With 1+ year hands-on workshop experience, NVQ2/3, and a full UK driving licence, you will join a team offering early finishes, no weekend work, and a salary scale from £30,000 to £45,000 plus an uncapped monthly bonus potential.

Qualifications

• 1+ year hands-on workshop experience in light vehicle servicing.
• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or equivalent time-served garage experience).
• Full UK driving licence required and must supply own hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on vans and light vehicles.
• Assist in diagnostics and adapt to commercial EV tech under paid 1-on-1 mentorship.

• Basic Salary: £30,000 – £45,000 basic per annum (Tailored salary scale starting for improvers with 1+ years experience up through to senior diagnostic levels)
• Bonus Potential: Uncapped monthly bonus structure (Technicians average an extra £300 – £600+ per month, reaching realistic £55k–£60k+ OTE)
• Hours & Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM — EARLY 4:30 PM FINISH and STRICTLY NO WEEKENDS (Beat the evening rush and keep every weekend completely free)

Role Overview

Seeking an ambitious Junior Van Technician, Improver Mechanic, or Early-Career LCV Specialist with at least 1 year of hands-on garage experience to join our busy Volkswagen Van Centre in Sittingbourne. You will handle routine servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs while gaining paid 1-on-1 mentorship to master diagnostics and commercial EV tech.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1+ years of hands-on workshop experience in light vehicle or LCV servicing and mechanical maintenance.
• Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or equivalent time-served garage experience).
• Mindset: Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a genuine hunger to level up into a certified VAG Commercial Diagnostic Specialist.
• Essentials: Full UK driving licence & own hand tools.
