Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly organised Band 5 Junior Service Manager to support Group 9 Service Managers. The post holder will coordinate the medical workforce, manage rotas, and ensure theatre schedules and outpatient clinics run efficiently to meet clinical demand.

The role involves liaising with Finance, HR and Medical Staffing to reconcile expenditure and ensure accurate pay, plus producing performance reports for executive meetings and supporting waiting

Qualifications

• Excellent communication across multi-disciplinary teams is essential.
• Strong IT and data skills to produce and interpret performance reports.
• Ability to problem-solve day-to-day operational issues in a busy acute setting.

Responsibilities

• Support the Group 9 Service Managers in day-to-day operations.
• Coordinate and manage the medical workforce and rotas.
• Oversee theatre schedules and outpatient clinics to meet demand.
• Reconcile expenditure with Finance and HR and ensure accurate payments.
• Produce performance reports and action logs for meetings.
• Act as a point of contact for consultants and secretarial staff.
