Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment in Southampton is seeking a Junior Health and Safety Advisor (Consultancy/NEBOSH) to support diverse clients with safety compliance, audits, and policy development. The role offers a car allowance, a 9‑day fortnight, training, and clear progression opportunities.

You will conduct annual safety reviews, write policies, and provide practical guidance to clients, contributing to a supportive, employee‑owned culture.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate required
• Experience conducting site safety inspections and writing health and safety policies

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person annual safety review meetings with clients
• Write and update health and safety policies
• Score client safety performance against management system criteria
• Conduct site inspections and provide written and verbal reports
• Carry out accident/incident investigations and produce high-quality reports
• Create and review risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and safe systems of work
• Provide advice and guidance via phone, email, or on-site visits
• Identify training needs and liaise with the training department
