Job summary

Thomson Environmental Consultants is seeking an Assistant Freshwater Aquatic Ecologist to join a growing Aquatic Ecology team. The role offers development in survey work, data analysis, reporting and assessments, with surveys across rivers and lakes.

You will organise surveys, liaise with clients and contribute to tenders, while enjoying a supportive, values-driven culture. Based across England and Wales, you will travel to survey sites, learn quickly, and build professional skills in an agile

Qualifications

• Degree in Aquatic Ecology or related field.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel.
• Ability to travel and stay away at survey sites across the UK.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Organise and coordinate surveys, desk surveys and ecological assessments.
• Liaise with clients and landowners.
• Assist in business development by contributing to tenders & quotes and supporting revenue growth.
• Support field surveys across rivers and lakes as part of a small, agile team.
