Job summary

Thomson is seeking an Assistant Freshwater Aquatic Ecologist to join the growing Aquatic Ecology team. The role involves survey work, data analysis, reporting and assessments across rivers and lakes, with opportunities for development in a collaborative setting.

You will gain hands-on field experience and contribute to varied projects while working in a flexible, supportive environment that values growth and learning.

Qualifications

• A degree or postgraduate degree in Aquatic Ecology, Hydro-Ecology or related subject.
• Valid driving licence and vehicle, insured for business use.
• Ability and willingness to travel and stay away at survey sites in the UK.
• Self-motivation with the ability to learn quickly.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Organise and coordinate surveys, desk surveys and ecological assessments.
• Liaise with clients and landowners.
• Assist in business development by contributing to tenders and quotes, supporting revenue growth.
