Job summary

Last Mile Asset Management in Glasgow is seeking a Junior Finance Analyst to support budgeting, reconciliations and month-end reporting across North and Scotland projects. The role offers hybrid working, a collaborative finance team and opportunities for skill development in accounting and Excel.

This entry-level position requires basic finance experience and a solid grasp of accounting principles, with training provided to grow within a dynamic utility-focused group.

Qualifications

• Experience in a finance role and understanding of basic accounting controls.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
• Ability to reconcile data and support financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain non-contestable templates for Last Mile North and Scotland projects and sites.
• Reconcile non-contestable templates against budgets and actuals.
• Liaise with Water Companies and internal departments to handle queries and resolutions.
• Create variations in simPRO for non-contestable budgets and ensure correct billing.
• Support month end reporting with non-contestable analysis and related journals.

Your responsibilities as a Junior Finance Analyst:

• Create and maintain non-contestable templates for all Last Mile Design and Build North and Scotland projects and sites, ensuring information remains accurate and up to date.
• Reconcile non-contestable templates against budgets and actuals, identifying and resolving any differences.
• Liaise with Incumbent Water Companies and internal departments to manage queries and support timely resolutions.
• Create variations in simPRO for changes to non-contestable budgets, ensuring updates are billed to customers, and any budget differences are corrected.
• Support month end reporting by preparing non-contestable analysis, variance narratives, Water Remedials reporting and POC Costs Unknown Journals.

Experience / Knowledge:

• Experience of working in a Finance role
• IT Literate with use of Microsoft Excel
• Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial controls
