Job summary

KO2 Embedded Recruitment Solutions LTD seeks a Junior Electronic Technician in Falkirk. You will learn to diagnose and repair VF drives, HMIs, and circuit boards across industries, with support from experienced technicians. The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving and on-the-job training with a focus on quality repairs to keep customers running.

You will work with soldering skills, use test equipment, and build a solid foundation in electronics while following safety and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• A qualification in electronics or electrical engineering (e.g. HNC, HND, apprenticeship or similar), or equivalent hands‑on experience
• Ability to read basic schematics and datasheets
• Some soldering experience, including potential SMD rework
• IPC J-STD-001 certification is desirable but training can be provided

Responsibilities

• Diagnosis of faults on circuit boards and electronic systems using schematics and datasheets
• Carrying out repairs under guidance: testing and replacing components, re-soldering connections and getting equipment back into service
• Using test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, rework stations) as part of routine maintenance
• Recording repair procedures and components for quality control and future reference
