Job summary

SSA Recruitment is seeking a Junior EHS Advisor to join a major data centre project in Didcot, Oxfordshire. This role offers early-career H&S professionals practical site experience within a regulated construction environment on a large-scale project.

You will work with the EHS and site teams to implement procedures, conduct inspections and assist with audits while developing core site safety competencies for a data centre environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support the EHS team with the day-to-day management of health and safety on site.
• Assist with regular site inspections, safety walks and audits.
• Support the review of RAMS, method statements and safe systems of work.
• Assist with accident, incident and near-miss investigations.
• Help monitor subcontractor compliance with project EHS requirements.
• Support the delivery of site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Assist with identifying hazards and ensuring appropriate corrective actions are followed up.
• Maintain accurate EHS records, reports and documentation.
• Support the implementation of the project EHS management system.
• Help ensure compliance with relevant UK H&S legislation and company procedures.
• Work closely with Site Managers, Supervisors, subcontractors and the wider EHS team.
• Promote a positive and proactive health and safety culture across the project.

About the Role

Our client are currently seeking a Junior EHS Advisor to join the project team on a major data centre project in Didcot, Oxfordshire.

Requirements

• NEBOSH General, Construction or equivalent qualification (or working towards).
• Some previous construction/site experience is desirable.

• Proactive approach with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider project team.
